After his having returned to India, the period 1954 A.D. – 1968 A.D. passed mostly in performance of Internal ‘Sadhana’. During this period, in between, in accordance with inspiration received from within, He went on pilgrimage to main pilgrimage centers and twice he went on pilgrimage tour to Amarnath Bhagwan (Himalayas). Also due to His past relationship with Ramakrishna Bhagwan in continuation of the earlier incarnation work, He had to go to Calcutta (Belur Math) eighteen times.

During this period, He had stayed at Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Kutinyana. He had stayed for longer periods at Rajkot and Jamnagar. At Rajkot, for a certain period of time staying in a hutment and living in a mood of an ascetic, He practiced high religious vows. Remaining in an intense ascetic mood, He used to remain absorbed in daily routine Sadhana. After His having received a command from the above to remain in the state of Godhead, He began the practice of Arti (waving of lights) before His internal form and in the daily routine life, He used to stay in the same state.
