When any human-being desires to tread along the spiritual path then in the first instance, it becomes inevitable for him to take a vow to observe truth in his life. That is why, Shri Ramakrishna Dev has said that, God can be realized through truth alone. Truth is one of the five main principles of Aryan Dharma. In the same manner, in the five ‘means-principles’ obtained by Rev. Prabhushree, the first place is given to ‘Truth’. Anyone not observing ‘truth’ does not obtain complete fruit however vast actions of ‘Japa-Tapasya-Vrat’ (i.e. vows) or charities and works of moral or religious deeds he may perform many a times, some untruthful acts destroy the entire impact of Japa-Tapasya carried out by the person. It cannot definitely be said as to what fruit and in what quantity of which untruthful act will have to be reaped by the person. And that is why ‘Truth’ is the foundation stone of spiritual life.
Rev. Prabhushree while explaining the importance of observance of truth had said that, “Relation of Truth exists with soul. ‘Truth’ is in fact the synonym of ‘Brahm’. Form of the Supreme Soul is ‘Truth’. And that is why, ONLY ONE OBSERVING TRUTH SUCCEEDS IN ESTABLISHING RELATIONSHIP WITH Brahm.
A human being at one time or another has to reap the results of the untruthful acts performed by him, and hence even though it is difficult in the beginning to observe truth, in the end it gives auspicious results. Lord Buddha has therefore exhorted that it is bitter to follow truth in the beginning, but in the end it will become sweet. In this way, by OBSERVANCE OF TRUTH HUMAN BEING IS SAVED FROM UNTRUTHFUL KARMAS.
The person observing truth also becomes worthy of respect from social point of views. Because when all the dealings are based on untruth (in the society), the person observing truth indeed becomes the prop in whom faith could be safely reposed.
There are other innumerable benefits of observing truth. Of course, in the beginning the person observing truth has to endure many hardships, but in due course of time gradually the power of truth (Brahm) also enthuses him in his life with strength.
