Any civilization, religion or social life devoid of non-violence cannot last forever.

In a true sense without non-violence, it has no value. Rev. Prabhushree (Shri-Sat-Chit-Atman) has written that, “Without practice of non-violence on a widespread scale, it is impossible to have spirituality in this world. And without nourishing water of spirituality, whole religion is like dead wood.” Moreover, He had told that, “without widespread practice of non-violence, upliftment of the soul of universe is not possible and without upliftment of the soul, evolution of humankind is impossible.” That is, in this world, it is not possible for men in their lives to uplift the soul without giving up non-vegetarian food.

Rev. Prabhushree (Shri Sat-Chit-Atman) has written the quintessence of His entire reflective thoughts about non-violence as follows :-

“In the eternal context of natural unbroken-ness of holy living organism and the fundamental inviolability of its forms endowed with life, the protection of cow-the mother and all gentle creatures from great violence engineered by man all over the world-is a natural justice, a moral and spiritual necessity. It is an auspicious signal from the compassionate supreme soul desiring welfare of all the living beings for saving the world from the fast gathering forces of disaster.

It is the main root of man’s true religion, a sustaining sap of life spiritual, the moral pre-requisite of genuine peace among men and of true prosperity of earth. It is also the most effective means of averting the scourge of global disasters such as Ice Age, a universal Deluge or a World War, famines and epidemics that might follow in their wake involving unimaginable suffering for all creatures.

Immortal soul of the Aryan culture, the perennial glory of spiritual Bharat, the shinning aureole of the coming age of Truth, based on the primary reality of spirit, it is a clarion call of the Divine to India to awoke and enter into its great heritage of truth and deliver without delay, this gift of love, owed long since by Bharat to the entire world.”

By a deep study in great depth of the above piece of literature, it is possible to obtain complete knowledge about compassion and non-violence.

In short, it can be said that violence perpetuated on a vast scale directly affects the life of humankind but it is not possible to show it visually. By violence, cruelty will go on increasing in the heart of man, which in the end degrades him to the state of a stone, renders him heartless and leaves him to be hard-hearted merciless person. The pain through which mute creatures on whom violence is perpetuated is ultimately to be borne only by the entire humankind itself. It is the entire society itself who has to bear disaster resulting from aggregate Karmas born out of such acts of torments of Pralayatmak (which causes disaster) calamities and social disturbances are the direct result of ripening of such acts.

In obligation to whatever service that is rendered by the mute creatures to the humankind, the humankind should grant a guarantee of safety to them and then follow it up in practice as token of clearance of this debt. Man should become grateful and not ungrateful. And that is why, it is seen to-day that the man himself becomes the enemy of man and kills him most cruelly. In this context, the last words of Rev. Prabhushri (Shri Sat-Chit-Atman) were that, “IF MAN WILL NOT LIVE by allowing sub human species to live together with him, then he will never be able to become (completely) happy.”

WHEN COMPASSION LEAVES……

When compassion for all living creatures leaves the heart of man, the light of the discriminative faculty dies, the flower of free will fades, the aroma of virtue evaporates and life loses its true purpose.

Ignored and unheeded, the soul, sinks into a deep slumber and dehumanized man degenerates into an unethical automation, pulled by visible self-interest and pushed by the evil powers of antariksha (outer space).

A moral blight descends on the collective conscience of the community, politics of power replaces the religion of the spirit. Culture becomes a paper-flower, while civilization, subverted by a soulless economics, is reduced to an empty shell.

Struck by the materialistic glitter of a false prosperity, derived from a ruthless exploitation and a reckless destroying of innocent life, the people dislodged from right thought and conduct, lose their way into the dark vale of man-made misery and self-destruction.

Where there is no compassion, the people perish.
